Dr. Tarrés lived 45 years (1905-1950). He devoted himself eleven years of them to medicine and eleven to priesthood. So, half of his live was medical and half was priestly, but this division is badly specified: all his life was priestly and medical, because he always devoted himself to the good of everybody. He did not have any facet, he was completely harmonious. 

In Barcelona, where he has been living the most part of his life, he said this immortal phrase: “The bed of an ill person is for the doctor an altar, and this ill person is the image of Jesus Christ”, adding later: “the doctor is like the priest who offers his pain to God”.
